So, I just upgraded my HTPC, which bumped it to kernel 2.6.31 (and lirc 0.8.6). With that setup, my remote doesn't work. It's a Hauppauge (actually I'm lying slightly, it's a Logitech Harmony PRETENDING to be a Hauppauge...but the receiver is Hauppauge, an old WinTV analog card which came with a remote and a receiever), using lirc_i2c. If I boot to an old 2.6.29 kernel, with the system otherwise unchanged and the _same_ version of lirc (still 0.8.6), it works. Boot to 2.6.31, doesn't work. I notice several recent changes logged to the lirc_i2c driver which note that there's some new code for kernel 2.6.31 and it's been written so that the new code is _only_ used on 2.6.31, so it makes sense from that perspective. Someone on IRC said 'that's a known issue' and pointed to http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1043882&highlight=hvr-1600&page=3 , but um I don't necessarily consider an ubuntu forum thread enough for it to be a 'known issue', so I thought I'd better check on the list too :) Is this something that actual lirc folks are aware of? Is it being worked on? Anything I can provide to help (bearing in mind I'm not a coder)?
