Hello all, I have managed to make my remote work well (but not perfectly) using your help and the steps here that I have detailed here: https://answers.launchpad.net/mythbuntu/+question/54983 I have also tried to distil the steps down in the linuxtv wiki: http://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Leadtek_WinFast_2000#Setting_up_the_remote as the existing steps were unclear and out of date (as far as I could tell). When you were helping me set it up, you told me to download http://linux.bytesex.org/v4l2/linux-input-layer-lircd.conf and put it in /etc/lircd.conf. I did this, but if I change the name, it does not seem to affect anything. This suggests to me that it wasn't necessary - is this because I am using Ubuntu, or something? While the remote is functional, a number of keys on the remote do not work correctly. Most work fine. I have attached: 1) a photo of my remote (to make it clearer what I am talking about); and 2) a spreadsheet of the output of evtest with the set-up as detailed above - you will see that the last buttons are especially incorrect. This page also talks about the problem: http://en.kioskea.net/faq/sujet-1942-configure-your-tv-card-on-linux but concludes that the keys aren't too important so he will leave fixing them "to the brave". You will see from the photo that my remote is a "Y0400046". I came across this proposed lircd.conf file for this remote: http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/9265 and I tried to put it in the place of my existing /usr/share/lirc/remotes/leadtek/lircd.conf.RM-0010 file. (I did this because there seem to be files in all sorts of places (/etc/lircd.conf and /etc/lirc/hardware.conf at least), but they all refer back to the .RM-0010 file.) This stopped my LIRC in MythTV from working, but did not seem to change my evtest output. This makes me wonder if the output is governed by something at a lower level than LIRC that I am not aware of (some devinput config file somewhere?) I would like to be able to assign each key on the remote to a different MythTV function. At the moment, I cannot do this because, for example, both the "Next" and "Vol+" keys are tied to "VolumeUp". I am happy to go through the manual process of collecting keycodes and reporting which buttons they should correspond to etc. if somebody can step me through the process. As much as anything, I would like the remote to work properly for others. Thank you in advance for your help, Aaron |
