Just forget about times being doubled. Actually the scale in xmode2 is
different (two vertical lines are ONE unit), so no doubling at all.

Also, I've confirmed that 400 us / byte seems to be the proper scale
with the avermedia 98 remote, here.

I don't know what happens with your remote. Perhaps it sends two key
codes before starting to send the repeat code, which may be confusing
lircd?
