Hi, Léo, 2009/1/19 Léo <leo...@ya...>: > my remote control is working! I just configured some functions (as kmix volume increase, decrease and mute) and it's working. I'm using IRkick to interface lirc with KDE programs. Nice to hear that :-) > However, I noted that sometimes the computer ignores the remote control (as it wasn't receiving signal or battery of remote was low) or have a delay between pressing the button and IRkick blink it icon, even with the remote very close to the receiver. Which remote are you using? Do the problems happen with the one that came with the laptop integrated IR receiver? If the pulse train frequency of the remote and the receiver aren't exactly the same there could be problems. A delay could be normal, too. How did you get the lircd.conf? One for the Acer remote included for my laptop is in CVS, in the remotes/acer directory. Is it a raw-mode or a decoded-mode configuration file? I would suggest starting xmode2 with a suitable -t value (you'll have to stop the lircd daemon so that the device is free for xmode2) so that you can check visually if the received signal is consistent. > I have the original Creative CD-rom driver with the receiver installed in another computer (an old one without linux :( ) and tried the remote control on it and it seems to work normally. There you're matching remote and receiver. > Those diffucults could be due to the module or it is an feature of the receiver or the computer? I don't know, have the chip something like sensitivity or signal to noise ratio that module could control?... I don't know whether there is any configurable reception parameter in the hardware. At least the Vista driver doesn't seem to support configuring any of these. Given that there's no datasheet available for it, I wouldn't count on getting those settings to work even if they existed. I'd suggest testing first with the provided matching remote. Best regards, JJ. |
