CIR chipset Winbond WPC876xL

I have a notebook Acer 5920-6080 with a CIR chipset Winbond WPC876xL. I tried to configure LIRC with IrDA hardware, but as described in http://ubuntu-virginia.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=6426246 I couldn't get it working.I compiled lirc 0.8.4, but I saw in source that there isn't a driver source for that chip. Is there some work in writing a driver for that chipset? Is there some site that I can get the driver?Thank!
