Hi: I just got a USB-UIRT device and I'm trying to set it up under Fedora 10. My problem is that I'm getting checksum errors, which I notice used to be a problem (but that appear to have been fixed). Fedora 10 has most of the support stuff for lirc and usb-uirt already, so there is not too much to be done. I get to the part of starting lircd, which I ended up doing non-daemonized for testing purposes. I get output like: idefix 194> sudo /usr/sbin/lircd -n --device=/dev/ttyUSB0 --driver=usb_uirt_raw [sudo] password for pfps: lircd-0.8.4a[9624]: lircd(usb_uirt_raw) ready lircd-0.8.4a[9624]: accepted new client on /dev/lircd lircd-0.8.4a[9624]: uirt2_raw: checksum error lircd-0.8.4a[9624]: uirt2_raw: UIRT version 0905 ok Here the error occurs when I start up irw. Does anyone know what might be going on? The errors appear to be partly limiting what I can do, but I did manage to learn part of my SONY RM-PJHS10 using irrecord. However, the process was painful, and I couldn't get all of the buttons learned, probably because of the repeated checksum errors I encountered. Any help would be welcome. Peter F. Patel-Schneider |
