Hey, You will need to download the latest version from CVS and compile it yourself right now as the support for these new devices has only just gone in. I'm still pretty new to linux, so please have patience with my attempt to describe my situation. http://www.antec.com/usa/productDetails.php?lan=us&id=30124 Here is a link to the actual product in case it helps. From what I understand, lirc is simply a program that interprets signals that are generated from an IR receiver that is being commanded by an IR remote. One should be able to use irw, irrecord, or mode2 to see these signal codes in a terminal window. For some reason, whenever I attempt the command 'sudo irw', it replies:
connect: Connection refused
When I attempt 'sudo mode2', it returns:
mode2: could not get file information for /dev/lirc mode2: default init(): no such file or directory
The strange thing is that after I turn on the computer, I am able to use the 'enter' and 'back' keys on the remote successfully. The second I hit any other key, I am no longer able to use the enter and back keys until I reboot again. I have a hunch that Ubuntu is simply seeing this device as a mouse and gets confused when I hit a button it doesn't recognize. What do I need to do to get my remote and ir receiver to work with lirc? Does it have to do with the fact that I am using http://lirc.sourceforge.net/remotes/imon/lircd.conf.imon this lirc.conf ? -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/Help-getting-Soundgraph-Imon-15c2%3A0043-working-tp20653546p20653546.html Sent from the LIRC mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ |
