Hi! I'm trying to configure lirc for the first time in my life. My intention is to record the lirc-config-files for the remote controls I've got at home. Then I want to upload these files to my Playstation Portable and with the help of the homebrew-program called "PSP Universal Remote", the PSP should be turned into an ir remote control. So far, I could only control my Leadtek Winfast 2000XP on Windows with my PSP, the file Y0400052 worked fine for that. Nevertheless, I've got some more devices at home, that I want to control with my PSP. But for these ones, I couldn't find any (working) lirc-configs. So I want to record them myself using irrecord. And that's where the trouble beginns. I've installed Ubuntu 6.10 and lirc(lircd 0.8.2-CVS) from the repo using "apt-get install lirc". The ir-receiver is connected to my TV-card Leadtek WinFast 2000XP. I've started lircd with the following command: ""sudo lircd -n -p 0666 -d /dev/lirc /etc/lirc/lircd.conf". Then I've started irrecord with the command "irrecord -d /dev/lircd bla" on another terminal-window. Immediately lircd is stopped with the following error: "lircd-0.8.2-CVS[5908]: accepted new client on /dev/lircd lircd-0.8.2-CVS[5908]: could not get file information for /dev/lirc lircd-0.8.2-CVS[5908]: default_init(): No such file or directory lircd-0.8.2-CVS[5908]: caught signal Terminated" Irrecord keeps on running until I hit the Enter-key two more times, then irrecord shuts down too with the output: "Terminated" Can somebody tell me, what I've done wrong? Or what else I need to configure? And it would be nice, if somebody could tell me a valid hardware.conf for lirc too. Greetz, Linus |
