All the signs look good (dmesg, daemon.log, etc), but no dice. I've found an ugly workaround though - if I unplug and replug the USB dongle it starts working again about 60% of the time...... VERY weird. I've left it go for now (hoping it is fixed next Kernel, truth be told), but if it continues I'm going to be looking to software fixes. Thinking a USB restart might fix the problem.
