how to get the pressed keybutton code or name when user press everytime?

Is there any exist c/c++ program for getting the pressed keybutton code or
name when user press remote control everytime?
I use the irexe.c, but each pressed key name would repeat many times which
is not the one I want, I want to get every pressed key information one tim,
and have no idea to solve this now.
