hello all. I'm still having some difficulty getting lirc to work on ubuntu 6.10 with the asus dh remote. I installed the package from source. Then ran: sudo /etc/init.d/lirc start and get: Starting lirc daemon: lircd. then terminal returns. then i type: irw and the terminal returns immediately. according to this: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Install_Lirc_Edgy that means some modules aren't loading correctly and to check dmesg. which returns this: [17179569.184000] Enabling fast FPU save and restore... done.
