I've installed the latest version of the daemon (0.8.2-CVS from 2007-03-10, according to the Changelog) and transmission doesn't work (I'm using the simplest homebrew serial transmitter, from lirc.org). Modules compiled from version 0.8.1 from lirc.org (dated 2007-01-07 in the Changelog) work just right (with the same daemon). I looked in the Changelog, at diffs between the two sources (both lirc_serial and lirc_dev), but saw nothing that may explain the difference.
