Ok, in the last line of /etc/init.d/boot.local (I'm running Suse, btw) I
put:
irexec --daemon /etc/lircshutdown.conf
and in /ete/lircshutdown.conf I have:
begin
prog = irexec
button = power
config = shutdown -h now
end
When I restarted and ran ps aux | grep irexec I found no instance of irexec
running. I also ran grep -e irexec /var/log/messages and got no hits. And,
to no one's surprise, when I clicked the power button on my remote, nothing
happened. What did I do wrong?
