I've looked through your stuff.  It looks interesting...

A couple of questions:

Serial ports are becoming rare....  How difficult would it be to build 
something like this for USB?

And to add a wake-on-lan header (like this: <http://markh.de/wakeonlirc/>)?

It's the wake-on-lan thing that I'm really interested in....

The neat thing is that this means you could implement lirc in user space 
entirely.  No kernel driver needed.
