So, I've built a lirc receiver/transmitter. The receiver works well and I've learning a number of my remotes. Now, I want to be able to send the IR commands for these remotes. When I issue the irsend command, "irsend send_start 57F510 PowerToggle", I am told that the hardware does not support sending. I'm running OpenSUSE 10.2 and compiled lirc 0.8.1 from a download and not through YaST. The driver modules WERE downloaded prior using YaST. I compiled lirc with the "--with-transmitter" switch and the serial driver. If I point the webcam on my Windows PC at the IR LED, I can see the IR LED blink on and off as the OpenSUSE machine is booting and initializing. I've read online that the OpenSUSE serial driver is broken and won't transmit. (See http://iguanaworks.net/ir/serial/faq.shtml) So, what must I do to get my lirc transmitter working? Where should I be looking to find the problem here? Any help is GREATLY appreciated. -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/%22hardware-does-not-support-sending%22%2C-but-I-used-the-%22--with-transmitter%22-switch-tf3471259.html#a9687048 Sent from the LIRC mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |
