irman spurious keypresses

My irman receiver (used with libirman 0.4.2 and lirc 0.8.1 and a  
hauppauge grey remote) gives me random spurious keypresses. They  
happen completely random, and it seems there are only a handful few  
keys it reports when it happens.

Anyone else seen similar problems? Can it be infrared noise, or  
something related to serial port config, irq etc?
