Hi, I have an Avermedia TVCapture. I use Debian etch updated and a 2.6.18.4 kernel downloaded from www.kernel.org and compiled with the linux-image-2.6.18-4-686 config file (/boot/config-2.6.18-4-686). I didn't change any kernel's option before compile. I downloaded LIRC 0.8.1 from www.lirc.com and compile it. All worked fine and the lirc_gpio and lirc_dev modules were copied to /lib/modules/2.6.18.4/misc correctly. When I try add lirc_dev module with "debian:/lib/modules/2.6.18.4/misc# modprobe lirc_dev" all works fine but when i try to add lirc_gpio with " debian:/lib/modules/2.6.18.4/misc# modprobe lirc_gpio" i get the following error: "FATAL: Error inserting lirc_gpio (/lib/modules/2.6.18.4/misc/lirc_gpio.ko): Invalid request code" My bttv driver works correctly: "bttv: driver version 0.9.16 loaded bttv: using 8 buffers with 2080k (520 pages) each for capture bttv: Bt8xx card found (0). bttv0: Bt848 (rev 18) at 0000:00:0b.0, irq: 217, latency: 32, mmio: 0xe8005000 bttv0: using: *** UNKNOWN/GENERIC *** [card=0,autodetected]" What is the problem? Is it necessary change a kernel option before compile it. For more information: "dmesg | grep lirc" "lirc_gpio: Unknown symbol lirc_unregister_plugin lirc_gpio: Unknown symbol lirc_register_plugin lirc_dev: IR Remote Control driver registered, at major 61 lirc_gpio: no version for "lirc_unregister_plugin" found: kernel tainted. lirc_gpio (-1): card type 0x0, id 0x0 lirc_gpio (-1): cannot detect TV card nr 0!"
