-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello, I'm trying to use LIRC to communicate with my IR Blaster (bought at http://irblaster.info) to simulate my satellite remote control with my satellite box (Bell ExpressVu). My MythTV backend is on FreeBSD. Does anybody have any instructions or any experience with getting LIRC installed and running under FreeBSD? In FreeBSD, I don't think there is a /dev/lirc, but I do have an lircd.conf setup based on specs for my remote I've downloaded, and I am getting this: # lircd -n --device=/dev/ttyd0 /usr/local/etc/lircd.conf lircd: lircd(dvico) ready Is this a good sign? However, I'm also getting this: # irsend --device=/dev/ttyd0 SEND_ONCE d9 625 irsend: could not connect to socket irsend: Socket operation on non-socket (d9 is my remote name) Therefore, I'm thinking that I don't quite have LIRC installed and setup right under FreeBSD.
