Ok I just completely remaped my hauppauge remote and I noticed some interesting things there are two scan codes for each button if you hold it down you get one scan code if you press it you get one one press and a second on the second press. I then started mapping my philips remote and am finding similar findings which leads me to believe there are 2 scancodes for every button on every remote that way it is easier to tell if you pressed the button or are holding it down. Has anyone else noticed this or can confirm? im finding it a little difficult using lirc but im learning fast I use irrecord to create a list with all the scancodes that I can use as /etc/lircd.conf and I run lircd and use irw to confirm my settings on the buttons. I want to try and help out with documentation mostly because I only learned through lots of searching and experimenting on how to use lirc. I still have yet to figure out how to use lircm. Maybe lircm could be moved to a secondary program it would be nice if I could use a program like so "mousemove <degree 0-359> <speed 0-100>" and have lirc send it through to that program. It would be useful for other things then ;-) I would like to get the joystick working in X again. also I would like it if with lircexec or maybe something else in lircrc I could send out to a program the button name and the amount held like the irw program shows how long its been being pressed. Thanks for the great project guys Oh and as I mentioned before have a look at kbde.sf.net its a great complimetary project its what makes me say having mousemove as a seperate project. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
