Has anyone used LIRC to control any industrial processes? We're developing a controller for agricultural uses, and I'm thinking that it might be nice for the users to control the equipment using an ordinary TV remote. It gets around many of the objections of a panel UI; a TV remote is very familiar to all generations of workers, typically they're cheap and easily replaced, and we don't have to worry about making our keypads hardened for weather and dirt.... Any thoughts, suggestions, etc? Any receivers suitable for wide temperature variations?
