I'm having the same problem, anyone have any idea how to debug this? Thanks Leo >I"m running Fedora Core 3, and have happily installed ivtv and lirc from >atrpms. I have installed the appropriate lircd.conf in /etc. > >MythTV can get video from the PVR250 card, so it seems the ivtv kernel >module is fine. > >The Lirc module seems ok, /dev/lirc is created, lircd starts up happily, >and attaches. > >However: irw returns nothing when I press a remote button. Stranger, when I >use irrecord, it detects no data and a seemingly long gap (It is seeing >something, I do get dots when I run it and press as directed): > I"d have thought that if you"re getting dots in irrecord you"re almost home. Have you kept pressing buttons until you fill up 2 lines of the sreen? When you"ve got that far irrecord then asks you to enter a text label for a key and then press it. It keeps asking you repeatedly until you"ve told it about all the keys on your remote and then you exit. On exit it creates a conf file for lircd in the file you specified on the irrecord command line. Once you have that file you can start the lircd daemon and configure your .lircrc to assign commands to button presses. Regards, Phill |
