Still a no-go. I uninstalled lirc 0.7.0 and deleted /dev/lirc*. I then used rpm and installed lirc-0.7.0-38_pre7.rhfc2.at.i386.rpm and kernel-module-lirc-2.6.8-1.521-0.7.0-38_pre7.rhfc2.at.i686.rpm. \dev\lirc had been created and \dev\lircd was created when I ran lircd. I set the permissions on both \dev\lirc and \dev\lircd to 666 and still had the exact same promblem. Thanks, Jason > Have you tried 0.7.0-pre7? The packages are still around.
