I'm trying to setup an Actisys IR200L on a mythtv box to tune my digital cable box, in addition to the input remote control that is already working (Hauppauge PVR-350). I compiled a second lirc process, with char-major-62 and a prefix directory of /usr/local/lirc-xmit, as described in the following thread: http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?thread_id=3324794&forum_id= 5339 It compiles and loads fine, but I can't use any of the executables. I always do a "setserial /dev/ttyS0 uart none" before starting the daemon or modprobing. I load the second daemon with the following command: /usr/local/lirc-xmit/sbin/lircd /etc/lirc-xmit.conf /etc/lirc-xmit.conf has the Scientific Atlanta explorer 2000 config I found here: http://lirc.sourceforge.net/remotes/scientific_atlanta/ I'm hoping this file is close enough, but have a remote that works with this box and am hoping I'll be able to do an irrecord to customize this if necessary. I've tried modprobing for lirc_sir first and then loading the second daemon and I've tried loading the second daemon and then modprobing for lirc_sir, neither gives an error, but neither works. Here's the output with the nodaemon option while trying to run irw. The daemon will produce the "ready" line after first loading, the rest of the output is produced after attempting to run irw, which immediately returns a prompt. [root@localhost dev]# /usr/local/lirc-xmit/sbin/lircd /etc/lirc-xmit.conf --nodaemon lircd 0.7.0pre4: lircd(act200l) ready lircd 0.7.0pre4: accepted new client on /usr/local/lirc-xmit/dev/lircd lircd 0.7.0pre4: could not open /usr/local/lirc-xmit/dev/lirc lircd 0.7.0pre4: default_init(): No such device lircd 0.7.0pre4: caught signal Terminated The following is the output of irrecord, while the daemon is running, although the output is the same without it: [root@localhost mythtv]# /usr/local/lirc-xmit/bin/irrecord lirc-xmit.conf irrecord - application for recording IR-codes for usage with lirc Copyright (C) 1998,1999 Christoph Bartelmus(li...@ba...) /usr/local/lirc-xmit/bin/irrecord: could not open /usr/local/lirc-xmit/dev/lirc /usr/local/lirc-xmit/bin/irrecord: default_init(): No such device /usr/local/lirc-xmit/bin/irrecord: could not init hardware (lircd running ? --> close it, check permissions) The daemon does not log anything while this is run. Here's a listing of the /usr/local/lirc-xmit/dev directory: crw-rw-rw- 1 root root 62, 0 Jun 5 16:28 lirc srw-rw-rw- 1 root root 0 Jun 6 17:41 lircd prw-rw-rw- 1 root root 0 Jun 5 16:28 lircm I'm running fedora core 1, kernel 2.4.22-1.2188.nptl_48.rhfc1.at. I've tried with the pre-built kernel and one that I recompiled with the "Standard/generic (8250/16550 and compatible UARTs) serial support" option set to modular. Same results. If anyone can tell me what I'm doing wrong it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. -Ryan |
