Hi, I am having trouble getting my motherboard IRDA header to work with lirc-0.7.0, I have constructed an IRDA header using the jaycar kit mentioned below. I know the header works using serial as when I connect minicom to it and point a remote at it I get data. I can also transmit, I used a handycam in nightvision mode to watch keypresses. I built lirc with the following options... --enable-debug --with-transceiver --with-driver=serial --with-port=0x3f8 --with-irq=4 I load the serial module with 'modprobe lirc_serial' and the kernel sets up a device /dev/lirc/0 ( i use devfs ) I start lircd as '/usr/sbin/lircd -d /dev/lirc/0 -n ' and this connects to the irda header fine. If I do 'irrecord -d /dev/lirc/0 myremote' with and without lircd running I get nothing, if I start lircd and do irw I get nothing. Does anone have any ideas as to where I could look or what I could try to get this working ? Thanks in advance Ian NIcholls PS. OK... Some info about my setup...
