Re: using a home brew transmitter with lirc on gentoo

Hi all,
 Thanks for the info!! I managed to use the
lirc_serial successfully, and now I see the led
blinks. I'll send a detailed report of what I did
later (when I see this actually transmit anything) but
in general the solution was to use lircd -d
/dev/lirc/0 (thnx again christoph!)

 The problem is I haven't yet used my receiver...

 The question goes like this: is there support for the
flyvideo2000 card (the one with the saa7130 chip, not
the bttv one) and if there is how can I install it.

 I have installed the lirc_gpio module but it is
trying to load the bttv module, I don't need the bttv
module (or do I?) since it is not suitable for my
card. 

 saa7134 module is installed on my machine and
modprobe seems to work with it.

I don't get new lines in dmesg with other
(non-flyvideo) remotes, but I want to record another
remote.

I have lirc compiled in debug, and am ready to conduct
any test required,
