Help with lirc_gpio and AverMedia card

Hello folks,

I'm trying to get the lirc_gpio driver working with kernel 
2.6.0+flameeyes lirc patch. I have a M1A8-A (bt848) as seen at [1] 
(though mine has a temic tuner instead of a philips). The card has a 
grey remote with blue labels for the buttons.

When running the driver with the debug option, I see that gpio_val seems 
to be stuck on ffffe0 -- it never changes.

This remote was working properly with 2.4.18 -- does anyone else have 
this card working successfully?
