Hi, I've been using an irman receiver with LIRC quite a while ago, and it all seemed to work quite well, I had it setup and working within a single evening. I haven't been using it for about a year now, and have meanwhile upgraded my Linux installation several times. However today I wanted to get it to work again, but seem to be running into some problems that I do not understand. I try to run the lircd daemon, with the command # lircd -d /dev/ttyS0 That seems to work, but when I start irw it exits after a few seconds. Looking at the lircd logfile it says: accepted new client on /dev/lircd could not open /dev/ttyS0 irman_init(): Connection timed out cought singal So I try to run the test_io program, and that generates the following: # test_io /dev/ttyS0 IR error reading handshake (Connection timed out) Does anyone have an idea what's wrong here? Any other tests I can run, or settings I can play with? I would really like to get it working again, so any answers/hints are very much appreciated! Kind regards, Mark. |
