I have a script that outputs the users quouta in a little bit more understandable format for an average person, like this:
root@webserver:~# quotascript patric.f
Total: 1 GB
Used: 1057 MB
You're over your limit!
Is it possible to execute this script on warnqouta and include the output in the mail somehow?
I really need to do this so my users easily can understand how much they need to delete etc.
Can this be achieved or do I need to make a feature request for this?
Sorry for a late reply. What you want is not currently possible. The question is whether it makes sense to tweak warnquota(8) to allow such things - after all when you can create a message about quota excess from a user name, it's not hard to send it over email to the user (just use mail(1) or something similar). What might make sense is to put quota information about excess on the standard input of the script and send the output via email. But I'm not sure that's what you need…
These are in fact impressive ideas in regarding blogging. You have touched some good factors here. Any way keep up wrinting.
