As far as I know PTP isn't usable over WiFi. I'm sure Richard can explain the details better than I.

Subject: [Linuxptp-users] How to run LinuxPTP work over WiFi??
Hi,
Planning to test linux ptp over wifi( WLM -200NX radio card) but not sure whether it will work or not.
So far its working fine on NXP ethernet driver (gianfar.c).
While i'm checking wireless capability via ethtool, getting following output,
root@CDOT-BBWT:/# ethtool -T wlan0
Time stamping parameters for wlan0:
Capabilities:
software-receive (SOF_TIMESTAMPING_RX_SOFTWARE)
software-system-clock (SOF_TIMESTAMPING_SOFTWARE)
PTP Hardware Clock: none
Hardware Transmit Timestamp Modes: none
Hardware Receive Filter Modes: none
root@CDOT-BBWT:/#
root@CDOT-BBWT:/# ethtool -T br-lan
Time stamping parameters for br-lan:
Capabilities:
software-receive (SOF_TIMESTAMPING_RX_SOFTWARE)
software-system-clock (SOF_TIMESTAMPING_SOFTWARE)
PTP Hardware Clock: none
Hardware Transmit Timestamp Modes: none
Hardware Receive Filter Modes: none
Why Transmit capability is missing here?? How to proceed from here ??
Thanks in advance.
Gourav
