#333 kerning troubles with f + î

Typing with Linux Libertine O the chain f + î (fî) cause the following problem:

• the upper part of the f meet the diacritic ^
  in the following cases:
• roman shapes
• italic shapes
• semi-bold shapes
• bold italic shapes
  (Semi-bold italic and bold are ok)

(Observed with Inkscape 0.91 and XeLaTeX 3.14159265-2.6-0.99996)

Just for the record, I just checked specifically and this issue has been addressed in the Libertinus fonts fork.
