I am using Linux Libertine G 5.1.3 with LibreOffice 5.4.0.1. When a ligature is automatically applied, but not wanted, a soft-hyphen doesn't seem to help. I am not sure if this is a LO problem or a problem in the font, just wanted to let you know and I am asking for help how to enforce a non-ligature in this case.
This is an issue with LO, not the font. There are ways to disable ligatures, but they differ for the Graphite version that you are using and the OpenType version. These days the OpenType support tends to be better documented. By the way you might also consider using the Libertinus fonts fork of these fonts that have many known issues fixed.
