It would be nice if, when naming fonts, the order of the letters was consistent - always having base before weight, so LinLibertine_aBS should be _aSB. The least change would be to have the official order be the alpha/auto-generated marker, base, decoration, weight, substyle - that moves decoration up earlier than it is listed in the table at http://www.linuxlibertine.org/index.php?id=91&L=1 - I'd suggest changing the table to move that column forward.

Also, that table should include D for Display as on option - currently that's going before the base. Also, I is used for Initials, which is not on the table (is that considered a base option?).

Another issue is that R for regular is sometimes left off - it would be nice if that was consistent.

The files that would need to change to match the convention exactly:
Biolinium:
_aBL to _aRBL
all _aU and _aW to _aRU or _aRW

Libertine:
_aBL to _aRBL
_aBS to _aSB
_aZL to _aRZL
_aZS to _aSZ
