i'm confused, how are you going to port Linux to the Gamecube?? Make your own Gamecube "CD" and use a memory card as the hard drive?

  I think the best idea would be to the gamecube memory (NOT memory card) to contain the operating system. You could use the memory card to contain configuration information. See http://www.knoppix.net/ for a linny distro that boots from disc.
