We just released the new production version 9.75 of LAC for the Valve Steam Deck. Download it from our "Steam Deck" download page (where you can always find our latest production software for Steam Deck) here:
As an option, this version supports the new "WW2-style" cockpit instruments with round, "analog" instruments. To enable that option, you must edit your ~home/.LAC/LacConfig.txt file according to the usual pattern, and within that file you must add 1024 to the "NetworkMode" attribute. See FAQ #72 from our LacFaq page here:
It's easy to install the flatpack version of mumble on your Steam Deck, but because SteamDeck players generally don't have access to a keyboard in flight, you can't program mumble with the usual pair of"Push to Talk" keys, so you will use mumble's voice activation instead, and you won't be able to change mumble channels at the tap of a keyboard key. LAC will automatically tune mumble to your TeamCast channel for you, so you'll be able to speak with team-mates just by speaking into your microphone loud enough to trigger mumble's voice activation.
However, it's trickier to speak with opponents. The best way to do that is to get everybody on both teams to tune to the "MissionCast" channel. Everybody that takes that step will be able to hear from and speak to everybody else on that channel.
LAC now includes a very powerful facility to automatically switch all players (of both teams) to the appropriate TeamCast channel for the current Realm and mission. To access that facility, tap the hidden click-button of your right joystick handle. Each time you tap that special button you'll cycle through all of the items of our "Tap Menu". Three seconds after you stop tapping that button, the most recently displayed tap menu option is automatically invoked for you. Look for the tap menu item that advertises switching all players to the MissionCast channel.
You can learn more about the "Tap Menu" from our "LAC on SteamDeck" page here:
