Commencing with LAC V8.40 (Nov2020), LAC now ignores the LacConfig.txt setting for "NetworkTransmitTimerInterval" if you are flying in one of the odd-numbered Realms (1, 3, 5, 7, 9, etc.). All of those Realms always transmit 10 packets per second.

The even-numbered Realms (00, 02, 04, 06, 08, etc.) all consult the configured value of "NetworkTransmitTimerInterval" from the LacConfig.txt configuration file according to our long-documented norms. The default for these Realms remains 5 packets per second.

Until recently, all user activity has been focused on Realm 00. Even now, most users are finding one another in Realm 00 (we still coordinate all of this "finding one another" activity through VOIP communication in the "Root" channel of our Mumble Server at LinuxAirCombat.com). When flying in Realm 00, the Server almost always replays activity from prior online players in MissionNetworkBattle02 and in MissionNetworkBattle03.

Recently, a few players have begun to use Realm 01, focusing on the new mission named "PEABODY'S MISSION". That mission is larger and more complex than any of the three long-stable, "classic" missions. The popular new Realm01 environment for that mission benefits from the doubled packet rate, resulting in smoother tracking of other players and Replay Blokes. When flying in Realm 01, the Server almost always replays activity from prior online players in "PEABODY'S MISSION".
