We just released new LAC version 9.83 for beta testing. This new version derives directly from beta-test version 9.82 and improves startup timing with a new 3-second delay between launching mumble and displaying LAC's startup menus. As always, you can learn additional details from our online ChangeLog page here:
I just released version 9.83 for production use on Raspberry Pi 4 and Raspberry Pi 5. Beta testing on those platforms has demonstrated good stability and has been well received throughout our small Raspberry Pi community. As always, you can learn additional details from our online ChangeLog page here:
I just released version 9.83 for general-purpose production use on all platforms. An AppImage version is available here for all industry-standard LINUX distros using X86 hardware according to the usual pattern:
LAC Version 9.83 is now also available in a comprehensive, downloadable "Linux Live" version of LINUX, in a large (2.9 GB) .iso file that you can burn to a bootable DVD ROM disk or to a bootable flash memory ("Thumbdrive") device that will run desktop LINUX, configured for use of LAC, on any mainstream, industry-standard "X86" desktop or laptopPC built since about 2007. Here's a direct link with instructions:
This is the best, easiest option for Windows machines. Just burn this .iso file to a bootable flash memory device with "Balena Etcher" or "Ventoy" and bootstrap your industry-standard "X86" PC from it. You'll find both LINUX and LAC on your desktop within 1 or 2 minutes and you can exercise both with NO impact on your Windows setup. Run it from your USB "Thumbdrive" and then shut it down, remove that Thumbdrive, and your PC returns to Windows with no ill effects!
