That's because of changes of internal interfaces from Linux 2.6.12 to 
2.6.13. (See my previous post.) Take version 1299 from 
http://www.linux1394.org/websvn/listing.php?repname=Linux+1394&path=%2Ftrunk%2F&rev=1299
or from my site, or check it out with the Subversion client:
$ svn checkout -r 1299 svn://svn.linux1394.org/ieee1394/trunk/ ieee1394
