Hi all.
I am having trouble seeing my Lacie BigDisk when I try and connect it via
firewire 800. I tried plugging and unplugging the disk and get no
messages in my dmesg. I've loaded the following modules: raw1394, ieee1394,
ohci1394, sbp2, sd_mod. As was suggested in an earlier message today,
I've tried each of the ports, turned the disk on and off, and ran the
script rescan-scsi-bus.sh so far with no recognition of the disk. I've
checked the external disk on a Mac, and it works fine.
Here are some specifics on my system:
debian system
kernel: 2.4.24
libraw1394: 0.10.1-1.1
pci card: LaCie FireWire 800 PCI Card FireWire adapter - 3 ports
external disk: LaCie 500GB Big Disk
DVD burner - scsi emulation
Snipet from dmesg when boots:
scsi0 : SCSI host adapter emulation for IDE ATAPI devices
Vendor: ASUS Model: DRW-0402P/D Rev: 1.05
Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 02
ohci1394: $Rev: 1045 $ Ben Collins <bco...@de...>
ohci1394_0: OHCI-1394 1.1 (PCI): IRQ=[9] MMIO=[e8014000-e80147ff] Max
Packet=[4096]
raw1394: /dev/raw1394 device initialized
sbp2: $Rev: 1074 $ Ben Collins <bco...@de...>
Note: After changing disk (ie. port or on and off) nothing is added to
dmesg.

Any suggestions? Do I need to downgrade to a firewire 400 card?
Thanks for the help.
