Hello! I have to manage custom made hardware device with small MIPS computer. My device has standart interface, RS232 or LPT (LPT is better). Device is in a real time sends signals via interface and i have to show them in graphical form on the screen. As i understand, it is good way to accomplish it - to install linux. What kind of computers i can use? Is Sharp Tripad PV-6000 ok? I can get used one for only 300$. But sharp don`t have LPT port, are there small computers with LPT exist? I`ve seen infra-red port to LPT convertor, but, as i read on www.linux-vr.com there is no infra red driver for linux-vr yet, is it true? Is it too hard to write infra red driver? Are there all nesessary things ready for linux-vr to use GUI and programm some graphs and so on? Please help me,because i don`t want to install big and expensive notebook instead of small pretty MIPS computer. Thanks! Ivan |
