What are some of the problems you know of and what problems did Mike run into? Are linux-vr and the linux-mips on SGI's server the only two "major" mips source trees? Are the maintainers of those two trees (I believe it's you and Ralf B.) interested in having a single mips tree, which would be brought up to date with Linus' tree and then maintained up to date? > On Tue, 5 Sep 2000, Pete Popov wrote: > > > > > Perhaps this topic has been covered many times over ... We intend to merge back, but that takes a huge effort that nobody has been willing to attempt lately (Mike attempted it once). Perhaps this topic has been covered many times over ... The linux-vr source tree seems to get updated with Linus' source tree every now and then, but what's the reason for not submitting the linux-vr changes to Linus to be incorporated with the main kernel tree? Pete |

I was lucky enough to get the kernel from Mr. McClelland, thanks Fred ! I will post my ClioLinux webpage soon for anyone else who wants to get the Clio 1050 kernel. -- _____________________ David James Lightbown [da...@hb...] HBE Interactive Inc. I know this is a list for developers for the LINUX-VR, but I am not certain where else to post this. I am looking for a kernel for the CLIO 1050. I have tried to compile a kernel based on the 0.1.1 source, and I cannot get it to work, it crashes WinCE (as opposed to the regular pre-compiled kernels which are made for the CLIO 1000, which boot to a black screen because they are writing to the wrong address for the LCD display) I have gotten a lot of help from a few generous individuals: Merle F. McClelland, Pete Buechler and Joe Abley, I'd like to thank them, but perhaps there are others out there who have the kernel for the CLIO 1050 and can send it to me, or put it online somewhere so I can access it. Once that is done, I will make a web page about putting Linux on the CLIO 1050 so others like me can find it easily, its too bad that the kernel specifically for the CLIO 1050 is not online, I'd like to do that and post the possibilities with the CLIO under Linux. Thanks for your time, -- _____________________ David James Lightbown [da...@hb...] HBE Interactive Inc. [www.hbesoftware.com] |

Maybe so, but anything that needs to use it should be going through the kernel console layer, no? (note: this is not the virtual console stuff, this is the very minimal console stuff that supports kernel boot messages) Mike Klar > -----Original Message----- > From: lin...@li... > [mailto:lin...@li...]On Behalf Of > Pavel Machek > Sent: Sunday, August 27, 2000 1:29 PM > To: lin...@li... > Subject: [linux-vr-cvsupdate] Update to module linux > > > Update of /cvsroot/linux-vr/linux/drivers/char > In directory slayer.i.sourceforge.net:/tmp/cvs-serv10153 > > Modified Files: > serial.c > Log Message: > serial_console_wait_key is usable outside of serial.c > > _______________________________________________ > linux-vr-cvsupdate mailing list > lin...@li... > http://lists.sourceforge.net/mailman/listinfo/linux-vr-cvsupdate > |
