I have a Handycam DCR-40 and I can tell you that DCR 20, 30, and 40
predate the USB Video Class. You'll also notice that the USB port is
full speed (12Mb) not hi-speed (480Mb). The streaming video you get with
12Mb isn't even close to DV quality.
