[Linux-uvc-devel] no joy with quickcam 5000

I see some at least partial success stories here about logitech quickcam
5000s.  I'm getting nothing of the sort I'm afraid.  Even xawtv
segfaults trying to display from it.  My driver is up to date as of
yesterday but still no joy.

Where can I start in trying to figure this out?
