This solves the crash in the module! But now, uvcview complains as follows:

maarten@aspire ~ $ uvcview

It seems like the driver or uvcview want a smaller picture than the cam 
provides. But I don't know the resolution of the cam in webcam mode. It might 
be VGA as that is what it does when recording movies.
