Hi Chas/all, I just inserted a Fore HE155 ATM adaptor card into my Linux machine. I = did a - [lx-cmdln] cd /usr/src/linux [lx-cmdln] patch -p0 < he.patch //patch downloaded from your ftp site I could see a Fore HE option under atm drivers when i did "make = menuconfig" after this. I inserted Fore HE as a module <M>, after which i did the = usual make dep, make, make bzimage, make modules, make modules_install,make = install.=20 Upon rebooting and doing "ifconfig -a" i could not see the ATM = interface.=20 However /etc/sysconfig/hwconf has an entry - -----snip------------------------------------------ class: NETWORK bus: PCI detached: 0 device: eth driver: unknown desc: "FORE Systems Inc|ForeRunnerHE ATM Adapter" vendorId: 1127 deviceId: 0400 subVendorId: 1127 subDeviceId: 0500 pciType: 1 -----snip------------------------------------------ The Rx LED of the card is glowing amber (though we have not attached any = OC3 connectors onto it as yet) This is the ouput of "uname -a" command on my machine -=20 [lx-cmdln]Linux dlhtparented218.dlh 2.4.20-8kgdb #1 SMP Thu Jan 22 = 10:02:38 IST 2004 i686 i686 i386 GNU Where could i have probably gone wrong ? Is there something else i need = to do to get my Linux kernel to recognise the card ? Please let me know your views. Thanks Raghu |
