Hi, Thanks for the replies. I have tidied up my XF86Config-4 but still X crashes. (Included files) X now doesn't report unresolved symbols but still doesn't work. I have included my dmesg which relates to the crash, it does mention X but not sure why. The unresolved symbol problem was recently mentioned on the debian-powerpc ml (Petro 20/9) but no answer seems to have come up. (So it's not just me!) In the Xlog the only errors reported seem to be (ww) Cannot open APM (EE) No OS PCI support available Are these errors significant, and what do they mean. My system clock still goes wrong on every attempted boot into Linux. The time is correctly read on startup(the same as on the miggy), but then it resets the hardware clock to 1902. I have tried reseting the date from within Linux, using date -s D10/03/02 this always does the trick (and it survives a reboot?) but sets the time at 17.00 what is the syntax to set the time correctly? The time problem isn't important though until X works properly. Regards, Dave ( jo...@co... ) If nominated, I will not run; if elected, I will not serve. -- Gen.
