uname -a

Linux Gandalf 2.4.18-apus #1 Wed Sep 4 23:01:36 UTC 2002 ppc unknown

update-modules does some disk access but gives no text-output.

Btw. Since the topic of this mail is about modem, I should have written
down that it was about the modem and not the sound, my mistake. In any
case neither of these works, at the moment.
