Hi After some advise I have tried the new 2.4.18-2 kernal and had a bit more progress. The kernal doesn't now probe for PCI hardware so it doesn't panic there, but it does probe for IDE later in the boot process, after IDE had earlier been enabled. This does cause the Kernal to panic...Doh! The kernal does ask for this to be reported. Have any A1200 PPC+BVision owners managed to get this kernal to boot with there setup and if so how? The 2.2.10 kernal doesn't "probe" the ide a second time and my hd and cdrom work perfectly, is this actually necessary in the latest kernal? Can this be disabled? In addition to this problem I have managed to install woody to a point but am unable to get a working XFree86-4Config, the ones on the apus site don't work and I seem pretty sure that they don't work for most people re queries on this list (after obvious tweaking for personal moniter specs) Michael Danzer has suggested some amendments to my X config file but none of the changes seem to affect the resulting x failure. I would be greatful if anyone with a working X-config using a PPC+BVision could send me a copy to look at.
