The good news is that /usr only contains system files which can be restored from packages (unless you put something else in /usr/local). The bad news is that /usr contains all binaries, so you'd need some kind of rescue system to restore it. > I'm concerned If I have to install a fresh Debian Woody, because the > installer didn't like my CV643d and the only way I had to install > Debian was by installing Potato and then upgrading everything to=20 > Woody a cumbersome and very tedious task ! The problem occurs because virgefb sets LineLength to 0, which should be easy to change. It wouldn't be hard for the installer (the bogl library to be exact) to work around this either, but it's probably too late for any changes to the woody boot-floppies now. --=20 Earthling Michel D=E4nzer (MrCooper)/ Debian GNU/Linux (powerpc) developer XFree86 and DRI project member / CS student, Free Software enthusiast |
