=2E. it's very urgent! Hello everybody, today I updated my SuSE7.1 and installed all of the XFree4.2 (updated fro= m 4.1)rpms I've found within the web! I had to do that because everytime I log off from KDE2 or I want to leav= e = my screen got some strange colorization and I had to reboot my Amiga and afterwards to run fsck on my large Linux-Partition!!! And this almost everytime I boot into Linux! This sucks really. I'm using the glint drive= r with my CVPPC and kernel 2.4.18. The XFree-change worked fine (while in the testinstallation nothing was mentioned, but after the real installation I got an requester listing so many files that I could even not see the "OK"-button), but afterwards I d= id not get my usual keyboard config within KDE2!!! In the xlogin-console both of the shift-keys don't work as they also did within every console under X/KDE2!!! Now I configured keyboard section of personalized settings within KDE2 to= DE, extensions also to DE and tried every keyboard one can choice within this dialog =3D> everytime the same result: No working keyboard!!! I alwa= ys get , on the "c"-key and so on! Does anybody know what to do and where to do it? My XF86Config is left unchanged, so I do not know where to fit this misbehaviour! And does anybody know how to get X wellbehaved so that I'll be able to shutdown my= Linux properly? I won't use fbdev, cause its really slow! And I hope I won't have to reinstall everything! Is there some material that gives an overview of what is needed to upgrad= e XFree4.1? Many thanx in advance and please forgive my poor english! Kind regards -- = Ren=E9 Thol Mail: Ren...@gm...= |
