You probably want to ask on debian-cd or debian-user; my experiences
have been uniformly positive, but that's probably because
lordsutch.com operates out of my own house :-).

My dad always said that after the first 24 hours or so of WW3,
everyone left fighting would probably be in hand-to-hand combat (I'm
probably paraphrasing a little).
